A visão da imperatriz Amélia, em um fim do mundo chamado: Brasil imperial

Resumo

Resumo: O presente trabalho pretende analisar o modo como à identidade da Imperatriz Amélia de Leuchtemberg é representada no livro Imperatriz no fim do mundo, de Ivanir Calado, que retrata sua chegada à corte brasileira e toda a sua estadia no fim do mundo chamado: Brasil Imperial, além de apresentar toda a sua vida e de seus familiares mais próximos. Considera-se, também o processo de re-territorialização por que passa a imperatriz no território Imperial brasileiro. Para tanto, como fundamentação teórica, serão utilizadas reflexões de Kathrin Woodward acerca da identidade e diferença (2000) e sobre identidade e território da autora Rosa Maria Vieira Medeiros. Através deste estudo, podemos inferir que mesmo com todas as críticas realizadas pela Imperatriz Amélia, para com a corte brasileira, ela passou pelo processo de re-territorialização e consequentemente, se habituando a cultura brasileira da época.

Abstract: This paper intends to examine how the identity of the Amelia Leuchtemberg Empress is represented in the book Imperatriz no fim  do Mundo,of Ivanir Calado, which depicts her arrival at Brazilian Court and throughout her stay at the end of the world called: Imperial Brazil, besides presenting her life and her immediate family.It is, also the process of repossession by passing the empress in Imperial Brazilian’s territory. Therefore, as a theoretical grounding, reflections will be used Kathrin Woodward about identity and difference (2000) and on the author's identity and territory Rosa Maria Medeiros Vieira. Through this study, we can infer that even with all the criticisms made by Amelia Empress, toward the Brazilian cut, she went through the process of re-territorialization and consequently getting used to the Brazilian culture of the time.
