Abstract

In this interview, Rocio Hernandez Arias explains the conceptualization of utopia and the subclassifications that derive from it. For this, it was essential to specify the orientation it has had in order to discern the meaning of these postulates. At first, it distinguishes their respective semantic fields and argues them from a historical account. For example, it refers to the literary utopia, the empirical utopia and the Hispanic utopia. After differentiating them, he comments on one of his relevant findings, which is the ability to have auscultated the link between utopia and freedom. In other words, for her, it is essential to also detect the link between utopian literature and the libertarian movement. Likewise, apart from the foundation that it makes on the term utopia, the allegation that it offers to the notion of anarchy and how it develops in the history of Latin America will be necessary. This is how Hernandez Arias manages to master these theories and taxonomies to extrapolate his knowledge in other types of discourses. In turn, this reveals the constant confrontation that will exist between multiple disciplines: philosophy, politics, history, literature and sociology. Therefore, the contribution of this interview is found in the transcendence that multidisciplinary categories have over time and how they have been incorporated into the perennial ideology of citizens.
