Quimiqueando en tu ciudad: Un juego educativo para aprender química en contexto

The combination of the approaches of teaching chemistry in context and gamification can become an effective tool for learning chemistry because of the educational advantages of each of them. This paper presents the educational game Quimiqueando en tu ciudad to teach and learn chemistry in the context of a city, in this case adapted to the Spanish city of Malaga. The game was implemented as a pilot study with a small group of high school students from that city. Through a questionnaire, the students' perceptions were studied, showing that the game is able to promote the learning of chemical contents related to the daily life of the students, improving their interest and motivation. The game was perceived as a useful, attractive and interesting resource.
