Author Guidelines

Principles

Promote dialogues, discussions, debates, advances in studies and research relevant to the fields of humanities and social sciences, through materials selected for possible publication in written and audiovisual format, considering networked perspectives that value different subjects, their particularities, spaces and temporalities from the so-called global South.

Encourage original, authentic, high-quality, unpublished collaborations and productions that come from Latin American and Caribbean authors, among others who are interested in reaching academic reception and dissemination spaces.

Value dialogue, discussion and debate between ideas, perspectives, world views and values whenever based on the search for fairer symmetries between symbolic and cultural differences, trends towards the liberation of people and broad social equity considered from categories such as race, gender, ethnicity, social class, origin and generation, with a view to recognizing and elevating the currently oppressed people who inhabit and belong to the spaces of the global South.

Publication standards

Contributions will be accepted from cultural producers, undergraduates, graduates, postgraduates, masters, doctors and post-doctors in accordance with the technical standards of the ABNT and the Unila Latin American Library (BIUNILA).

It will be possible to publish in Portuguese and Spanish. When it comes to written texts, it is necessary to observe A4 page size, 2.5 cm margins on all sides, Times New Roman font, size 12, 1.5 cm spacing, title, summary and keywords in at least two languages (Portuguese and Spanish) and in up to three languages, containing between 40,000 and 60,000 characters with spaces, including bibliographic references and footnotes. Audiovisual materials, such as songs, videos and untranscribed interviews may be between two minutes and two hours long (the “podcast” format will be considered). Tekoa Magazine will receive, via email or through electronic cloud sharing, materials in a continuous flow.
