Abstract

This article presents two editions of the Intercultural Exchange Project, developed through intercultural dialogue between Indigenous and non-Indigenous schools. It is a proposal integrated into the Indigenous Peoples’ Week (SPI) programme, with its first edition taking place during the 2023 event. The project aims to present discussions on: interculturality for non-Indigenous students; critical interculturality in History teaching; the Intercultural Exchange Project we developed over two consecutive years (2023 and 2024); the participation of the schools involved; the project's stages; and an experience report by teacher Mislele Souza da Silva, who works in the public basic education system in the city of Uberlândia. The analysis was based on photographic and oral records collected during the project's development, interpreted through literature relevant to the teaching of Indigenous topics and critical interculturality. The project proved to be a powerful tool for learning about Indigenous topics in basic education school settings.
