Dialogues on the complexity of the arbovirus topic in the training of Biological Sciences teachers, through an RPG game
Abstract
In teacher training arboviruses control is commonly focused on biological aspects, disregarding the complexity of the topic. In this work, an RPG based on Popular Health Education aimed at controlling arboviruses was developed and evaluated with Biological Sciences graduates. In “RPG Karapanã: popular participation in at controlling Aedes aegypti” players seek to solve a dengue epidemic in a fictional city. Participants contributed to the final version of the RPG through suggestions and criticisms. The evaluation results indicate that the game can promote dialogues to address the complexity of issues involving Ae. aegypti control, deepening reflections on biological, biotechnological, political, educational and socioeconomic/cultural issues.
