As a challenge to public health, arboviruses transmitted by Aedes aegypti mosquito have as main control strategy the reduction of vector breeding sites. Scientific dissemination has proposed educational interventions in order to stimulate behavioral reactions in the population for vector control. One of these proposals is the creation and use of board games. The game “Um Jogo Zika” was elaborated by students from a public school under the guidance of a Science teacher and it was chosen as the object of analysis, to understand its potentials and limitations in relation to its educational goals. The research methodology brings together a pedagogical perspective from the typology of content (Antoni Zabala), the game design and the constitutional tetrad (Jesse Schell). The result is that the pedagogical process by which “Um jogo Zika” was built it was considered successful; however, the analytical bias according to Schell's parameters suggests that the game and its experience can be more independent from other educational interventions in achieving its goals.
