This research comes from an investigation carried out within the scope of the Professional Master's Degree in Chemistry in a National Network and aimed to analyze how the production of games during a didactic workshop on women from the Periodic Table promotes student engagement. It configures itself as a qualitative participant and was carried out in a state school located in the city of Curitiba/PR. People participated voluntarily during 13 meetings after school and resumed their chemical knowledge from the Periodic Table, researched and presented the biographies of 23 women who contributed to its development and to the study of chemical elements; and, finally, they created three didactic games about the studied content. The analytical process adopted was Content Analysis of the data constituted through participant observation and document analysis, and the research corpus was restricted to the process of making the games. We conclude that there was engagement of students in three aspects: i) behavioral, ii) emotional and iii) cognitive and that the role of the participants in the development of activities provided opportunities for this process.
