The first article of Volume 9 of Revista Espirales is now available!
This week, we invite you to read the article “Between Tehran and Buenos Aires: the existentialist revolution from a Heideggerian perspective”, by Gabriel Rodrigues Peixoto.
The text offers a compelling analysis of the Argentine Peronism and the Iranian Islamic Revolution as Ereignisse—foundational events that unveil an insurgent ontology in response to the technical-instrumental rationality of western modernity. Drawing on the philosophy of Martin Heidegger, the author explores how these movements sought to re-establish a connection between human existence and territory, spirituality, and history.
While peronism is interpreted as a telluric and immanent gesture, the Iranian case is presented as a synthesis of politics and sacred transcendence. Concepts such as Dasein, Autochthony, and Gestell frame an ontopolitical reading of resistance, that redefines time, space, and sovereignty, and gestures toward multipolar horizons in contemporary thought.
Note: This is the first article published in Volume 9 of Espirales. From this issue onward, the journal adopts a continuous publication model: articles will be released as soon as they are ready for publication.
Enjoy the read and stay tuned for upcoming releases!
