CASOS DE VIOLÊNCIA CONTRA A MULHER NA AMÉRICA DO SUL

Com a eclosão da pandemia do coronavírus, os Estados buscaram medidas para proteger seus cidadãos como o fechamento de fronteiras, isolamento domiciliar, aprovação de decretos emergenciais, dentre outros. Todavia, paralelamente, a mulher nunca esteve tão vulnerável, em abril do último ano, mais da metade da população estava vivendo em confinamento. A ONU Mulheres alertava acerca do reflexo da pandemia sob os grupos estruturalmente vulneráveis. A chamada “Pandemia das Sombras” buscava atenção, principalmente, para os tipos de violência contra a mulher. Contudo, apesar do aumento no número de denúncias, estima-se que há uma quantidade ainda maior de vítimas ocultas, que não denunciam a violência que sofrem por medo, impotência e desapoio.
