Focus and Scope

The journal welcomes articles (submitted to dossiers or continuous flow), essays, interviews and reviews, distributed, respectively, in the following sections: (a) Dossier; (b) Continuous Flow; (c) Horizontes Insurgentes; (d) Comunidades Epistémicas; (e) Entrelíneas de la Integración. Regardless of the format of the submitted manuscript, it is essential that it relates to debates on the Integration of Latin America and the Caribbean, encompassing reflections that include: 

  • empirical studies in the Social Sciences, Social and Applied Sciences, Human Sciences and/or interdisciplinary areas to the previous ones that deal with Latin American and Caribbean integration; 
  • analyses of the contributions of political and social thought, classical or contemporary social theory in the studies and practices of/for Latin American and Caribbean integration; 
  • contributions of research methodologies developed in or about Latin America and the Caribbean to integration studies; 
  • discussions on the role of indigenous peoples, traditional communities, organized collectives (feminists, LGBTQIAPN+, artists, cultural activists, black movements and others), social and alter-globalization movements in the processes of regional integration, including inter-epistemic and intercultural debates that value ancestral knowledge, local knowledge and dialogues between different forms of language and traditions of thought.

Manuscripts that incite any form of violence, discrimination or prejudice will not be accepted, including, but not limited to: racism, LGBTQphobia, sexism, xenophobia, ableism, religious intolerance or any discourse that perpetuates stereotypes and structural inequalities. Our commitment is to valuing historically silenced voices and building a critical, inclusive and supportive space committed to social justice.
